letters from the sky

Uh, hey. I'm Michael Wayland. And I have no idea what to put in these things so. Just talk to me, I guess? Until I put something better here. Yeah. So. Get out of here and hit the ask button already. ~

Whoa, sorry, Celine.

I totally forgot I posted that. And no, I wasn’t being philosophic — well, no, let’s go with that?

I lost my shoes.

I was looking forward to the weekend and then I did nothing.

tumblrbot whispered, "WHAT IS YOUR EARLIEST HUMAN MEMORY?"

My dad and I doing archery. And eating pudding after. … Good times.

So it’s Friday. Yay.

Michael Wayland - Accepted!

beforetheuprising:

Name: Mika

Age: Fourteen

Timezone: EST

Character: Michael Wayland

With your character in mind, write a 2-3 paragraph sample of your writing:

He hated, no, abhored it when people made judgement calls on his mother’s choice in leaving it all behind. Leaving the Nephilim life. Leaving his life. It’s not as if they knew the entire story, from her point of view — or anyone’s really. And it wasn’t as if any of them (the Nephilim, that is) were perfect. In fact it was accurate to say that they were far from it. Still, it was something that irritated him to no end. So when he overheard a soft comment regarding his mother being almost wise in her choise to leave to become a mundane as he walked down the streets of Idris, Michael Wayland couldn’t help but to have his spirits lift just a little. Just a tiny bit. See, it wasn’t really a great time to be sixteen and a Nephilim in this day and age. Things were being questioned, after all. Take for example, the fact that both men and women were viewed somewhat as equals — both genders now being required to train as Nephilim warriors. It was very well known that divided opinions existed regarding this. In fact, that was only one of perhaps several things that the Nephilim were beginning to question, wonder about. The other speculation were Downworlders’ rights. Michael wasn’t like most people. At least, the majority of people whom he spent time around — who seemed to be utterly disgusted by the mere mention of the term ‘Downworlder’. In fact, Michael didn’t have a problem with any Downworlder of any sort. The exception(s) being those who broke the Law, of course. And especially those involved with the battle that resulted ultimately with his father’s death — which was, coincidentally as he thought of it(and he meant it with sarcasm), this very day. His father’s death anniversary. His father was not a subject he liked to touch upon. His death was one of two of the greatest impacts of his life — the other being his mother and her departure, of course. Despite Michael overall being extremely saddened this day, he wasn’t about to ‘waste his time’ even thinking about doing anything to remember his father by. He wasn’t going to visit any grave of any sort today, nope. No, Michael wasn’t one for sappy sentimental gestures/actions like that. No, Michael instead was heading back home. And home to him were the Lightwoods. Because to Michael, despite what — forgive the cheesiness — his heart told him, the past was the past. And over and done with.

Write a bit about your character’s personality/relationships/history and opinions regarding the political statuses within the Accords:

Michael’s pretty much the nice guy you ask for the notes you missed the other day in class. He’s pretty much the guy you go to for advice about anything and everything. And he is most certainly the kind of guy you go to for a good make-out session if you’re feeling up to it after a heated dramatic fight or break-up with your significant other. But he is also just plain Michael. And Plain Michael hates that he’s the guy you go to for all these things. So why do it, then, you’re asking? Why the fuck would you go and do something you hate, Oh-So-Good Michael? Well for starters, Michael is the kind of guy who knows he’s too nice and for that, hates himself for it. And sadly, or not so sadly (it really all depends on perspective), since the only thing he knows how to do is to be nice, he keeps doing it. As for Michael’s sociable nature, he’s a good-natured guy and talks to pretty much everyone. And open-minded is his middle name. And by open-minded, of course this also references to his sexuality. Not that Michael, or anyone else has ever publicly stated it, it’s just a thing that has become clear among everyone. Michael is pansexual. He’s not proud of it and not ashamed of it. He really doesn’t care for what people make of it, either. He simply is what he is. And apparently loves who he loves. Not that his relationships are non-existent. He’s not the type to do one-night stands, or commit longer than a few months — merely because he doesn’t really fall for anyone. No, Michael has never fallen deeply in love, or even had a ‘serious’ first love or a crush or anything. He simply likes people, and, judging by the fair amount of three-week to two month girlfriends he has, his patience or liking them eventually wanes. Someone his patience does not wane upon is Robert Lightwood. It’s safe to say the two are best friends, considering they are Parabatai. They’ve grown up together and Michael would do anything and everything for his best friend. As for anything related to the Accords, Michael really doesn’t care enough to state an opinion that would — well, matter. But who knows, being the open-minded guy he is, he could be swayed.
